All Saints Catholic School is pleased to announce that it was selected by Today’s Catholic Teacher as its January/February 2011 School of the Month, (http://www.catholicteacher.com/) in recognition of our Peace & Justice Players program.
Mrs. Judy Fisher, former All Saints teacher and assistant principal, founded the Peace & Justice Players in 2004. She recently submitted an article about the group and its activities to Today’s Catholic Teacher, a highly respected magazine written specifically for educators committed to providing excellence in Catholic education throughout our nation. It was Mrs. Fisher’s hope that others would read about the Peace & Justice Players and create similar organizations within their Catholic school communities.
Recognizing the distinct manner in which this student organization blends faith and service to the benefit of the community, the editor of Today’s Catholic Teacher selected All Saints Catholic School to be featured as the January/February 2011 School of the Month. This accolade is especially fulfilling as it affirms our school’s commitment to faith formation and to instilling in our young people an appreciation for service to the community.
All Saints would like to express its gratitude to Mrs. Fisher for her vision and willingness to share this ministry with other schools, and thank Mrs. Caroline Kardaras and Mrs. Eileen Rakshys for continuing the leadership of this important organization. And, of course, we want to thank and congratulate our Peace & Justice Players, past and present, for their enthusiasm and active participation. Through their commitment they are providing a profound example of what it means to live the Gospel message, representing our school as a beacon of hope and goodness for the greater Manassas community!
Congratulations, Peace & Justice Players!
