Race for Education Kick-Off

During the week of May 24 – 28, 2021, All Saints Catholic School PTO will hold a Race for Education to raise $20,000 for PTO initiatives that benefit our students, faculty, and staff throughout the year. Additionally, 5% of all proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Students from K to 8th grade will walk and/or jog around a designated area for forty-five minutes. Each student will raise funds by asking sponsors to contribute a donation to All Saints Catholic School. All donations are tax deductible. Here are the details.

Your Support
The success of Race for Education relies on the number of sponsors and the amounts they give. Think of relatives, friends, neighbors, business associates, coaches, and anyone else you know who would want to invest in your child’s education. Then email them with a message such as this:

“[Your child’s name] will be walking/jogging during a special fundraising event
at All Saints Catholic School during the week of May 24. Would you be willing
to sponsor [him/her]? Please go to www.race4ed.com/asc to find out more.
Type [your child’s name] in the Search bar to make a donation. Thank you.

You can also post the website link, www.race4ed.com/asc, on Facebook, on Instagram, on Twitter, or even text it to relatives & friends. We will reach our goal of $20,000 if parents contact an average of 15 potential sponsors per child.

Virtual Learners
They will be invited to come to school on a designated day during the week of May 24, or they can participate at home (e.g., walking and/or jogging in their neighborhood or at a local park).

Paper Mailers
If you prefer, you can mail or hand out “two-way mailers” to your relatives and friends (see attached mailer). There are spaces on the mailer for you or your child to handwrite something personal to the sponsor, i.e. “I hope you will sponsor me.” You can contact the school for additional mailers to be sent home with your student. Please note that 4 pieces of scotch tape need to be affixed to the folded mailer if you send it out via the postal service.

Student Prizes

  • A Homework Pass will be given to each student who receives at least one sponsor
    donation.
  • A Movie & Popcorn Party will be awarded to each class receiving an average of three
    sponsor donations per student.
  • A $25.00 Gift Card drawing will be held for each grade level (K-2nd grade; 3rd-5th grade;
    6th-8th grade). Students will receive a single entry for every five sponsor donations.
  • A Ribbon and Popsicle will be given to each Race Day participant.
  • A School-Wide Dress Down Day and Snow Cone Treat will be awarded to all on-campus
    students if we reach our goal of $20,000. Virtual learners will be treated to a Chick-fil-A free
    ice cream cone.
  • A Chick-fil-A Lunch will be awarded to the class with the highest number of donations.
