Principal’s Message

Happy New Year!  I hope that you and your family enjoyed the Christmas holiday and the many opportunities to celebrate the season. 

I am pleased to share with you that Mrs. Bethany Adams has accepted the position of school nurse and will be joining our community next week.  Mrs. Adams has previously been employed as a registered nurse in a cardiac care unit and also served in a supervisory role at a Veteran’s Home.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University and a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Troy University.  With strong clinical assessment skills and a compassionate approach, she will be a terrific asset to our school community.

Registration Schedule for 2016-2017

Current families who wish to enroll a new student in grades Pre-Kindergarten through eight for the 2016-2017 academic year are invited to request an application via email at the following address:  Applications will be sent home to families with the youngest child currently enrolled in our school.

Re-registration forms for current students will be sent home to families early in February.

Open House for 2016-2017 School Year

All Saints Catholic School will host an Open House for prospective parents on Wednesday, January 13th beginning at 9:00 a.m.  All parishioners and members of the community interested in learning more about our parish school are cordially invited to attend.  Following a presentation and introduction at 9:00 a.m., tours of the facility will be provided. Prayer of the Month – Prayer for Compassion

O Father, give us the compassion you want us to have and teach us to embrace each other with compassionate arms, no matter what our age, color, history, or belief. Help us to remember that you are Life Itself, and that you are using every one of our unique gifts to bring us together with you once again.  Amen.

Virtue of the Month Program ~ Compassion

The following is a list of ways that we will encourage the students to practice the Virtue of Compassion during the month of January.

  • Pray for those people who are hungry or homeless.
  • Give money to the poor box in church from your own allowance.
  • Give food or clothing to those in need.
  • Help at home without being asked.
  • Keep your room neat and orderly to help your parents.
  • Make a pretty card or write a cheerful letter to someone who is sick or in a nursing home.
  • Listen quietly when your friend is upset or angry and needs to talk.
  • Visit relatives, neighbors, or friends that are sick.
  • Include new students in your games. Introduce them to your friends.
  • If someone doesn’t understand a lesson or a game, offer to teach them. Do not make fun of them.
  • Make someone laugh when they are feeling sad.
  • Be kind to everyone you meet.



Science Fair judging will be held on January 20, 2016 from 7:40am to 2:00pm in the PAC.  If you love science and understand the scientific process, please consider offering your time and talent as a judge.  Judges will arrive as early as 7:40am and will be offered breakfast and a first peek at the projects.  A judging orientation will start at 8:00 am and judging begins shortly thereafter.  Judging will finish about 2:00 pm. Come join us and see what mysteries of science our students have discovered.  Projects are in the following categories: Astronomy, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Biochemistry, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, and Zoology.  If you are interested in judging, please sign up via help counter or email

Additional Science Fair Support Needed – Volunteers are needed on January 20th to assist Mrs. Cottingham and Mrs. Woolfrey with data entry and as a “runner” to escort the students  between their classroom and the PAC for their judging period.  These volunteers will be needed from 8:00am until 2:00pm.  Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided.  Please signup via Help Counter or contact Carol Rice

Donations are needed for the Science Fair, Wednesday, January 20th. Please check out to see a list of items.  We’re in need of food and non-food items. Box Tops for Education

Parents, Students and Teachers….keep clipping!  All Saints Catholic School just received a check for $1,745.50 from Box Tops for Education, so you can see that clipping those box tops an easy way to earn money for the school.

Would you believe, we have already collected 4,345 box tops since the November submission. I believe that is a record number of box tops collected in 1 ½ months at All Saints.

Tuition Assistance Applications for 2016-2017

Applications for Tuition Assistance for the 2016-2017 academic year are now available.  A copy of the online application can be found at the following website:

Due dates for submission of applications and supporting documentation are as follows:

High School                 January 25, 2016

Elementary School       March 14, 2016

NOTE: All families with children enrolled in both high school and elementary school will need to submit an application by the January high school deadline.

Please note that all applications and supporting documentation must be received by SMART rather than postmarked by the dates listed above.  Applications will only be processed by SMART once all required documentation has been submitted. 

Criminal Background Checks for Volunteers & VIRTUS Requirements

As part of the diocesan initiative to maintain a safe environment for all of our children, all volunteers with “substantial contact” with children are required to complete a background check prior to working in the school and to complete VIRTUS training within 45 days of commencing service.  To register for an upcoming training, please visit

In accordance with diocesan policy, full compliance for an adult parent volunteer is not required for open events.  (An open event is one that is open to the public, infrequent and publicized, such as Field Day, concerts and special events/assemblies.)  However, full compliance is required for adult parent volunteers who wish to participate in closed events.  (A closed event is one that is not entirely open to the general public such as classroom activities, parties, field trips, etc.)  For this reason, all parents who wish to attend field trips or volunteer in support of classroom activities are required to complete the background check process and attend VIRTUS training.

In accordance with diocesan policy, only those parents who have completed the criminal background check are eligible to volunteer in the school.  Those who have not yet completed the background check process may request a packet of forms from the front office.  

The diocese also requires volunteers who have completed the full VIRTUS training to attend an annual update entitled Keeping the Promise Alive.  This 30 minute video training is a prerequisite for volunteering in the school.  The following is a list of upcoming sessions:
