Message from the Principal

Beginning this week we will periodically share the progress of our second Annual Fund via a link found at the bottom of the newsletter.  I wish to thank those parents, community members as well as faculty and staff who have already responded so generously.  We know from past experience that the gifts of prayer, support and financial offerings truly make a difference every day for our students.  Thanks to your support of last year’s Annual Fund, we have been able to strengthen our tuition assistance program, update technology in the classrooms and launch a robotics program in the middle school.  As the design of computerized robots is now part of our middle school curriculum, our students will enter high school with important STEM-related skills.

As we look to the future, we want to continue to invest in our science and math programs.  With the success of our 2nd Annual Fund, we plan to install WiFi access throughout the school, an initiative that will be a game changer that opens the door to new technologies in the classrooms.  Imagine the possibilities that exist for integrating mobile devices in all of the instructional rooms, not only the computer lab and library/media center.  Additionally, we wish to continue to allocate funding for the purchase of math and science equipment and maintain our support of the tuition assistance program. 

Making a donation today you will not only be helping to advance our program, but also potentially providing the gift of a Catholic education for a child who otherwise might not have the opportunity.  In advance, thank you for your prayerful and generous support of our Annual Fund.

Spelling Bee Results

3rd Quarter Lock-Down Drill

A lock-down drill will be held during the week of February 24th.  In an effort to better assess our response and increase our readiness, the exact date and time of this drill will not be communicated in advance.

The Funeral Ministry is in Need of Food Donations

The Funeral Ministry is in need of food donations for a funeral this Friday?  Food needs to be in disposable containers about 9X13 and brought to the PAC Friday morning before 9:45am.   The link to sign up is

Attention Band Members – It is time to get ready for the Hershey Candy Fundraiser! 

The goal of the fundraiser is to raise enough to cover lunch for the students and parents on our band trip to Busch Gardens for the Music in the Parks Festival.  Copies of the flyer have been sent home and a link to the flyer can be found below. 

High School News

John Paul Open House – March 13

John Paul’s Spring Preview Open House is Thursday, March 13, from 4 – 6pm.  This event is primarily for students in grades 4 – 7 to come preview high school at JP, but all are welcome!  Meet JP students, teachers, and coaches!  Tour the beautiful building, and enjoy refreshments!  A brief presentation will begin at 4:15pm. IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Re-Registration Forms ~ Due Friday, February 21st

Parents are reminded that all re-registration forms are due in the office on Friday, February 21st.  Since registration of new students began last week, it is important that parents return the forms by the deadline in order to insure that a place is reserved for each child who will be returning for the upcoming year.

Note:  If you are registering a new student, the new student registration forms are due by February 28th.

PTO to Sponsor Cyber Safety Presentation

On Monday, February 24th beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Mr. Andrew McGahan, Clinical Director of the Jewish Social Services Agency, will speak on the topic of Cyber Safety Awareness

As this presentation will address such an important matter, at least one parent from each family is asked to attend.  The presentation will take place in the Parish Activity Center from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with time for questions at the end of the evening.  Invite friends, neighbors and colleagues to what promises to be an insightful and empowering presentation for parents!

Tuition Assistance Applications for 2014-2015

Applications for Tuition Assistance for the 2014-2015 academic year are now available at the front office.  Again this year the Diocese of Arlington has partnered with FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Company.  FACTS has also established an on-line application process that can be initiated through the company website (http://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3Q327)

The due dates for applications and supporting documentation are as follows:
