The Sentinel ~ Re-registration & Tuition Rates for 2014-2015

Message from the Principal

Today each family will receive re-registration forms for the 2014-2015 academic year.   Parents are asked to complete all of the forms and return them to the office no later than Friday, February 21st.

Registration of students new to All Saints, including siblings who will be eligible by age for Pre-Kindergarten, will begin on February 10th.  Separate forms related to this initial registration process will automatically be sent home to parents who have already expressed interest in enrolling another child in our program.

Over the course of the last six years, we have been successful in slowing the rate of tuition increase for our families, resulting in some of the most affordable rates in the diocese.  In fact, for families enrolling two children, we are currently the third most affordable of all the schools! 

As we look to the upcoming year, we want to continue to provide the same commitment to excellence, the same level of service, and the same value that you have come to associate with the All Saints’ experience.  Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, we want to continue to bolster salaries for our faculty and staff who are so dedicated to our mission. 

In order to sustain these commitments and to continue to grow, we will increase tuition by 5% for the 2014-2015 academic year.    Pre-Kindergarten tuition will increase from $2400 to $2550.

Additionally, we are revising the fee schedule for the Extended Day Program for the upcoming year.  As these rates have remained steady for many years, we are incorporating a few adjustments in the fee structure so as to better fund the program while at the same time maintaining highly competitive pricing.  A copy of the new rates can be found at the corresponding link below.

9th Annual Race for Education!

Preparations are now underway for the 9th Annual Race for Education which will be held on Thursday, May 8th.  A packet of important information related to the event will be distributed to students at a special assembly on Friday afternoon.       

When reviewing the information packet, you will note that our goal for this year’s Race for Education is $50,000.  As is our tradition, we will continue to donate 15% of the proceeds to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital, an organization that has received more than $100,000 from our community since the 1990’s.  

The remaining funds from the 9th Annual Race for Education will be allocated to the PTO, ultimately benefitting the school through a general fund contribution that enables us to continue to purchase and maintain technology and other educational materials. PTO to Sponsor Cyber Safety Presentation

On Monday, February 24th beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Mr. Andrew McGahan, Clinical Director of the Jewish Social Services Agency, will speak on the topic of Cyber Safety Awareness

As this presentation will address such an important matter, at least one parent from each family is asked to attend.  The presentation will take place in the Parish Activity Center from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with time for questions at the end of the evening.  Invite friends, neighbors and colleagues to what promises to be an insightful and empowering presentation for parents!

Arlington Honor Band Announced

The following students have been selected for the 2014 Arlington Diocese Honor Band.  This band is a composite group of selected instrumentalists from around the diocese who gather for rehearsal each Monday evening at Bishop Ireton High School.  This group will perform more advanced music with all of the directors from around the diocese as well as guest conductors. 

The Honor Band will perform a final concert with the Bishop Ireton Band in May.  Congratulations to the 37th Annual Honor Band nominees from All Saints.

Locker Room Renovation Project – Seeking Volunteers

Mr. Redman, our P.E. Teacher, is coordinating the repainting of the two locker rooms in the gym on Saturday morning from 8:00 – noon.  Parents and middle school students, who may earn both points and confirmation hours, are invited to contact Mr. Redman for more information.

14 Days Until Science Fair!

Middle School Parents mark your calendars for the Science Fair Awards Ceremony on February 19th from 6:30-7:30pm.  Doors open at 5:30pm if you would like to view the projects.  

We need – volunteers to help serve lunch from 12:30-2:00pm and to help with the transition from Science Fair judging to the awards ceremony from 2:30-3:00.  We also need food donations.  Please see the volunteer link to sign-up.  Thank-you in advance for your help making this year’s science fair a success!!

Open House for 2014-2015 School Year – February 13th

All Saints Catholic School will host an Open House for prospective parents on Thursday, February 13th beginning at 9:00 a.m.  All parishioners and members of the community interested in learning more about the parish school are cordially invited to attend.  Following a presentation and introduction at 9:00 a.m., tours of the facility will be provided. Tuition Assistance Applications for 2014-2015

Applications for Tuition Assistance for the 2014-2015 academic year are now available at the front office.  Again this year the Diocese of Arlington has partnered with FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Company.  FACTS has also established an on-line application process that can be initiated through the company website (http://online.factsmgt.com/signin/3Q327)

Lost and Found – Last Call!

There is an overflow of clothes with no name on the tags that have been left at school.   If your child is missing a jacket, sweatshirt, hat and/or lunch box, please come and look through the lost and found.  We will keep items in the office through February 7th, before donating them to the homeless.
