Seek Christ in one another; welcome Him into your heart
Principal’s Message
On Sunday evening the Catholic Business Network of Northern Virginia hosted the 17thAnnual Awards Gala at the Hyatt Dulles in Herndon. Each year at this event, the schools in our diocese are invited to recognize the generosity of individuals and businesses from the local community who have made a significant contribution to the mission of Catholic education. This year I was pleased to recognize Eddie and Marjorie Collins, two parents who have shown extraordinary generosity in their support of our school. Mr. Eddie Collins served as the chairperson of our first Running with the Saints 5K, an initiative he began planning eighteen months ago. His wife, Mrs. Marjorie Collins serves as the co-chair of the Race for Education as well as second grade room parent and volunteer for countless PTO initiatives. I am deeply grateful for the enthusiastic support they have provided to our school and delighted that they were able to be in attendance at this gala event.
In addition, I was pleased that Mrs. Peggy Engstrom, P.E. teacher, received recognition at the event as well. For the past twenty-four years she has been an integral member of our faculty, teaching our students much more than skills related to physical education. She has thoughtfully incorporated the Virtues Program in her curriculum and has creatively identified strategies in support of character education. Among the faculty and staff she is deeply respected and admired for her gentle demeanor and her generosity of heart. Whenever a need has arisen within the school, she has always been quick to offer her time and expertise. Humble in nature, she has been one who has quietly made a difference behind the scenes and as such our school community has been blessed by her presence. Congratulations Mrs. Engstrom and thank you for your continued dedication!

National Junior Honor Society Induction
Last Friday afternoon twenty-one students from the seventh and eighth grades were inducted into the All Saints Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. The students met or surpassed the criteria in the following five areas: character, scholarship, leadership, service and citizenship. A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation made by Mrs. Karen Davey, Pre-Kindergarten Assistant, who served as the keynote speaker.
