The Sentinel – Volume 12, Issue 13

Seek Christ in one another; welcome Him into your heart.

Message from the Principal

It was a joy to observe so many students, parents and friends of All Saints gathered for our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon on Monday.  Indeed, the event has become a beloved tradition with many parents returning year after year to enjoy a time of wonderful food and fellowship.

As always, I wish to thank our all-star kitchen team:  Mrs. Wendy Matner (Director of Cafeteria Services), Mrs. Liz Werling (Assistant), Mrs. Wilma Marsengill (Cafeteria Bookkeeper) and Mrs. Kris Walk (Assistant) for their tremendous commitment.  Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, they cooked and prepared food throughout the day only to take up the effort again at first light on Monday.  The quality of food that they prepared for such a large crowd is nothing short of impressive.  I am grateful for their dedication as well as their good spirit.

The success of the luncheon was also made possible by the generous support of volunteers, many of whom return each year to offer assistance.  As such, the entire operation runs smoothly with staff and parents working hand in hand.  Thank you to all of our volunteers for your support of one of our most cherished traditions!

I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to recognize and thank our “celebrity servers”: Fr. Bob, Fr. Juan, Fr. Jeb and Fr. Melmer.  How blessed we are to be in a community where the priests take such delight in participating in the life of the school and provide such a wonderful example of service in action.

When we return from the Thanksgiving holiday, we will begin our school-wide celebration of Advent.  Look for details regarding special events and observances in next week’s edition of the Sentinel

As we pause from our daily work and schedules to join family and friends to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, please know of my gratitude for your continued support of our school and its mission of providing an education of faith and excellence.  Happy Thanksgiving!

A Prayer of Thanksgiving:

May God be gracious to us and bless us

and make his face to shine upon us.

The earth has yielded its increase;

God, our God, has blessed us.

May God continue to bless us;

let all the ends of the earth revere him.

                        (Psalm 67)

We thank you for your gifts, merciful God,

and we ask you to give all people the food they need.

May we all be united one day

in the eternal singing of your praises,

through Christ, our Lord.
