The Sentinel – Issue 10, Volume 11

Message from the Principal

As the first quarter rapidly draws to a close, I am pleased to share with you that nearly all of the school supply items have finally been received. The delivery and follow through from the supply company has admittedly fallen well short of our expectations and has been a source of frustration for students and staff alike. To this end, I did speak with a representative from the company and requested that their organization provide a letter of explanation and apology to our school community. Attached please find a letter of response in which they have outlined the reasons for the delay in shipments.

I would be remiss if I did not publicly thank Mr. Scott Newton for his perseverance in managing this project. He invested more than twenty hours coordinating the effort, taking time during the evenings and weekends to distribute the follow up items to individual classrooms. I am immensely grateful for his commitment and optimistic spirit in the face of very trying circumstances.

On behalf of the entire community, thank you Mr. Newton for your service to the families of our school!

Do you have friends or acquaintances who have expressed an interest in Catholic education? All Saints Catholic School will host an Information Night for those interested in learning more about the school on Thursday, November 19th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Father Kelley Hall. As it is never too soon to begin planning for a child’s Catholic education, parents of toddlers as well as school-aged children are cordially invited to attend. “An Evening with St. Nicholas”
Mark your calendars for December 4th from 6:30pm-8:30pm for what we hope becomes an annual tradition here at All Saints! This is the first event of its kind here- spend some time with St. Nicholas, whose feast day is Dec. 6. He will visit us and tell the story of his life, as well as meet the children of our school and parish community. Families can enjoy cookies and cocoa, along with traditional Advent carols. This is a community-building event, designed to help us prepare for the Advent season. Families will not be charged admission; rather, we ask that you bring a donation of new shoes in honor of St. Nicholas and his feast day. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Proceeds will go to “House of Mercy”.
