The Sentinel ~ January 16, 2013

Message from the Principal This week I would like to ask that you keep two of our faculty and staff members in your thoughts and prayers in a special way as they have both experienced a significant loss within their families. On Saturday, the father of Mr. Redman, our P.E. teacher, passed away unexpectedly after suffering a heart attack.  Since that time, Mr. Redman has been gathered with family and friends in upstate New York.  The funeral for his father is taking place today and he anticipates returning to Virginia with his family on Friday. On Tuesday morning, the father of Mrs. D’Eugenio, our administrative assistant, passed away after a rapid decline in health.  His memorial service will take place at Pierce Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27th.  Friends and loved … [Read more...]

Principal’s Message Each spring students in grades two through seven participate in the Terra Nova, a nationally normed standardized testing program. I am pleased to announce that all grade levels scored in the top 10% of the norm group in reading, language arts and math. I am very proud of our students for this outstanding achievement and exceedingly grateful to our faculty for their continued … [Read more...]

Principal’s Message It has been a great joy welcoming new and returning students to the 2012-2013 academic year.  Once again, the hallways and classrooms are filled with energy and enthusiasm as students meet one another and learn the details of day-to-day life at All Saints. The cornerstone of our school is our commitment to faith formation, captured in our namesake…that all may be saints!  With the perspective that this is our top priority as a Catholic school community, this week I would like to share with you our new theme as well as an update regarding our Virtue Program. In recognition of the anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and in solidarity with Pope Benedict XVI’s declaration of the “Year of Faith”, Fr. Bob has selected the following theme for the … [Read more...]

The Sentinel – Volume 10, Issue 39

Message from the Principal On Friday evening families and friends gathered with the 8th Grade Class of 2010 to celebrate their successful completion of the program and to wish them continued success and blessings as they transition to high school. For the first time in the history of the school, graduation marked the end of a ten year journey as a number of the students were members of the first Pre-Kindergarten class at All Saints.  Begun in 2000, the Pre-Kindergarten program now celebrates ten years of introducing students and families to All Saints and providing the children with a strong educational foundation. While graduation represented an important milestone for our graduates, it was also a significant moment for a number of families for whom this was their final All Saints … [Read more...]
