This week I am pleased to share with you the news that Mrs. Lynelle Pora has accepted the position of long-term substitute and will be teaching middle school social studies through the close of the academic year.
Mrs. Pora earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and has completed graduate coursework in both educational leadership and foreign language, specializing in Spanish grammar, language and culture. She has four years of experience as a 7th grade Spanish and social studies teacher in addition to a wide-range of other educational placements. Additionally, as an on-call substitute at All Saints, Mrs. Pora is already familiar with the daily routines and procedures of our program. I am grateful for her interest and commitment and delighted to welcome her to our faculty.
Over the course of the next four weeks, Mrs. Pora will be concluding her work for two graduate courses. During this time period she will be absent Monday and Tuesday of each week. On those days, another of our substitutes will teach her classes. Nevertheless, she will assume responsibility for all instructional planning and assessment and coordinate closely with the other substitutes.
Should you have any questions about this transition, please do not hesitate to let me know. In the meantime, let us continue to lift up Mrs. Slovenkay in our prayers as she begins her treatments this week.
School Lunch Menu Update
Due to the change in the School Calendar for Friday, January 20, which is now a holiday for Inauguration Day, Friday’s scheduled lunch: Pancakes, Sausage Links, Scrambled Egg Patty, and Fresh Oranges will be moved to Friday, January 27 (replacing the Corn Dog lunch).
We will also be changing the scheduled lunch on Tuesday, January 24 from the American Sub to the Italian Sub.

BIOETHICS Workshop at JP
A 5-session overview of the semester class “Principles of Ethics” is being offered at Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School for adult-learners. March for Life
On Friday, January 27th the students of All Saints will join their prayers with the thousands who will gather in Washington, D.C. at the annual March for Life. As a school community we will pray for an increase in respect for the sanctity of life at all stages in our society. While children who wish to attend the March for Life with their parents or the Youth Ministry Program will be marked as absent, please know that this absence will not affect a child who otherwise would earn “Perfect Attendance” at the close of the year. If your child will be attending the March, please notify his or her teacher via a note by the end of next week.
Registration Schedule for 2017-2018
Current families who wish to enroll a new student in grades Pre-Kindergarten through eight for the 2017-2018 academic year are invited to request an application via email at the following address: email@example.com. Applications will be sent home to families with the youngest child currently enrolled in our school.
Re-registration forms for current students will be sent home to families early in February.

The application for tuition assistance for the 2017-2018 academic year is now available and can be found at the following link.
Due dates for submission of applications and supporting documentation are as follows:

Elementary School March 17, 2017
NOTE: All families with children enrolled in both high school and elementary school will need to submit an application by the January high school deadline.
All applications and supporting documentation must be received by FACTS by the deadlines listed above to be considered. Only complete applications will be considered. Late applications will be handled as they arrive and as funds allow.
Families interested in applying for Tuition Assistance for the Pre-Kindergarten program are also invited to complete the FACTS process. Although pre-kindergarten students are not eligible for financial assistance through the diocese, the analysis provided by FACTS will guide the process for determining disbursements from funding through our school and parish.
