Principal’s Message Next week All Saints will join with schools across our country in celebrating Catholic Schools Week, an annual opportunity to highlight our heritage and distinct mission.  The theme will once again be Catholic Schools ~ Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service. This is the type of community that we strive to cultivate each day at All Saints.  With a commitment to faith formation and academic excellence, the faculty, staff, clergy and parents are united in their efforts to provide our children an experience that is truly life-changing. It’s Restaurant Week!

Did you know it's "Restaurant Week" in fifth grade? Students are putting their math skills into real world application by learning how math is used in a restaurant setting, from learning how to calculate a tip using percentages and decimals to understanding how to double a recipe using fractions. The connection to everyday life doesn't stop there. Students are learning social skills related to restaurant etiquette and developing cultural awareness by investigating how McDonald's restaurants tailor their menu based on their global location. To round out the week, each fifth grader will participate in a "book tasting" to showcase their summarizing skills. The Sentinel – January 18, 2017

Principal’s Message This week I am pleased to share with you the news that Mrs. Lynelle Pora has accepted the position of long-term substitute and will be teaching middle school social studies through the close of the academic year. Mrs. Pora earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and has completed graduate coursework in both educational leadership and foreign language, specializing in Spanish grammar, language and culture.    She has four years of experience as a 7th grade Spanish and social studies teacher in addition to a wide-range of other educational placements.  Additionally, as an on-call substitute at All Saints, Mrs. Pora is already familiar with the daily routines and procedures of our program.  I am grateful for her … [Read more...]
