On Friday evening school and parish families once again gathered to celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas at a prayer service that began in the church and was followed by a reception in the Parish Activities Center. Through music, readings and prayer, the children had an opportunity to learn more about the life and legacy of St. Nicholas, culminating in their presentation of new shoes at the foot of the altar. Thank you Mrs. Sarah Roccograndi and Mrs. Barbra Almond for organizing the event for our community. I also wish to thank the middle school students who served as ushers and readers, the members of the Schola who led the music, and volunteer parents who assisted with many of the details surrounding the reception. It was a beautiful occasion, both festive and prayerful, that captured the spirit of Advent.
The next morning several dozen students and parents gathered in Old Town to represent our school in the Greater Manassas Christmas Parade. I want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Cooney who designed and constructed our float which was awarded first place in its division! With a twelve point star and our school motto proudly displayed, the float conveyed the true meaning of the Season and was a beautiful representation of our Catholic school. Along the parade route our parents distributed snowflake bracelets and information about All Saints. Thank you to the members of the Enrollment Management Team for designing and preparing these festive giveaways. I also want to thank those families who volunteered their time and shared their talents in helping to prepare the float for the parade. It was yet another shining moment for our school community.
On Monday, we will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe beginning with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Immediately following the liturgy, the students will gather around the Statue of Mary in the courtyard where they will learn more about the feast day and pray one Decade of the Rosary. Students are cordially invited to bring single roses to school on Monday to be presented to Our Lady by class representatives. After the ceremony, the students will process to the Parish Activities Center where they will enjoy authentic Mexican treats and the music of the parish Spanish Choir. We look forward to this joyful celebration of Our Lady and hope that many of you will be able to join us for the occasion.
Important Carpool & Parking Reminders
In keeping with our school policy, parents are reminded to use only right turns when entering the property during arrival and dismissal. This is important in order to maintain a steady flow of traffic on Stonewall Road, to prevent any back-ups near the intersection at Center Street, and to maintain positive public relations with our neighbors and local businesses.
When picking students up following after school activities, parents are reminded not to park in the fire lane directly in front of the school. It is important that this area be open to emergency vehicles at all times. Parents are asked to park in front of the church and to walk over to the courtyard to pick up their children from extracurricular activities.
Thank you for your attention to these procedures that safeguard our school and that foster positive relationships with our local community.

All Saints Christmas Pageant
The students of Grades K, 1, 4, 5, and 6 will participate in the annual Christmas Pageant, The Living Crèche. Over the last several weeks, the students have been preparing songs in music class to help portray this beautiful story. Please note the following information:

Open House for 2017-2018 School Year
All Saints Catholic School will host an Open House for prospective parents on Wednesday, January 11th beginning at 9:00 a.m. All parishioners and members of the community interested in learning more about our parish school are cordially invited to attend. Inclement Weather Policy – Revised for 2016-2017
Effective this year there is a revision to the All Saints Catholic School inclement weather policy.
For the sake of consistency and predictability for parents, All Saints Catholic School will follow all decisions announced by Prince William County Public Schools regarding cancellations, delays or early releases due to inclement weather and will not be making independent decisions.
All Saints Catholic School will only make independent decisions in response to inclement weather when Prince William County Schools have a previously scheduled closure on a day on which All Saints is scheduled to be open. (i.e. PWCS Teacher Work days, etc.) Such changes will be communicated via the School Messenger System.
Announcements regarding decisions made by Prince William County Public Schools related to inclement weather are broadcast widely and also posted on the school system website.

Tuition Assistance Applications for 2017-2018
The application for tuition assistance for the 2017-2018 academic year is now available and can be found at the following link.
Due dates for submission of applications and supporting documentation are as follows:
High School January 23, 2017
Elementary School March 17, 2017
NOTE: All families with children enrolled in both high school and elementary school will need to submit an application by the January high school deadline.
All applications and supporting documentation must be received by FACTS by the deadlines listed above to be considered. Only complete applications will be considered. Late applications will be handled as they arrive and as funds allow.
Families interested in applying for Tuition Assistance for the Pre-Kindergarten program are also invited to complete the FACTS process. Although pre-kindergarten students are not eligible for financial assistance through the diocese, the analysis provided by FACTS will guide the process for determining disbursements from funding through our school and parish.
