The Sentinel – December 21, 2016

Principal’s Message On Monday evening the students presented the annual Christmas Pageant, the highlight of which was a beautiful depiction of the Nativity Scene.  As the lights grew dim and the students sang softly, everyone in the church enjoyed a quiet Advent moment that reminded us all of the true meaning of Christmas.  I am so proud of our students and grateful to Miss McPhilamy and Mr. Tessier for all that they did to prepare such a wonderful production. In many of the classrooms the children have been discussing the ways that they have been preparing their hearts during this Advent Season.  In the hallways there are even bulletin board displays of “gifts” that the students have chosen to give to Jesus.  I hope that you enjoy several of these heartfelt sentiments as shared by … [Read more...]

Principal’s Message On Friday evening school and parish families once again gathered to celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas at a prayer service that began in the church and was followed by a reception in the Parish Activities Center.  Through music, readings and prayer, the children had an opportunity to learn more about the life and legacy of St. Nicholas, culminating in their presentation of new shoes at the foot of the altar.  Thank you Mrs. Sarah Roccograndi and Mrs. Barbra Almond for organizing the event for our community.  I also wish to thank the middle school students who served as ushers and readers, the members of the Schola who led the music, and volunteer parents who assisted with many of the details surrounding the reception.  It was a beautiful occasion, both festive and … [Read more...]
