2009 BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

The Sentinel – November 9, 2016

Principal’s Message

This week I am excited to share with you the news of the expansion of the Pre-Kindergarten program beginning in the fall of 2017.  In response to growing interest in the community and the feedback provided through the parent survey last spring, we are pleased to offer the following options for parents wishing to enroll a child in our program for four year olds for the 2017-2018 academic year.

1 Full Day Class (5 Days per Week)                                        $5,800
1 Half Day Class (5 Days per Week/A.M. Session)                 $4,000
1 Half Day Class (4 Days per Week, M-TH/P.M. Session)      $3,200

To accommodate the anticipated high demand, we will be increasing enrollment in each class from eighteen to twenty students. Due to space limitations, however, we will be unable to provide Extended Day services for students in the Pre-Kindergarten program.

In an effort to provide current families the first opportunity to apply, we invite parents to contact our office by next Tuesday to indicate their interest in the Pre-Kindergarten program for 2017-2018.  We will then send home applications on Wednesday, November 16th to those who have responded, one day prior to our Open House when the Pre-Kindergarten applications will become available to the wider community.  As in the past, current families will receive first consideration for openings in the program.

Indeed, it is a “New Day in Pre-K” and we look forward to sharing more information about these exciting changes in the weeks ahead!

As we prepare for our first Open House that will take place on Thursday, November 17th, I invite you to share with your colleagues, friends and neighbors the message and mission of All Saints.  Studies consistently show that the number one factor for a school’s enrollment is what parents share in the community.   While our alumni represent our best success stories, you are our best ambassadors!

Through our New Student Referral Program, your family can receive a $200 tuition creditfor referring one new family or a $400 tuition credit for referring two new families!

On Monday, November 21st we will host our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon.  All parents are cordially invited to attend this special event with their child(ren).  For the second year, we are  linking this celebration to an outreach effort to benefit the St. Lucy Project, a large warehouse in Manassas where staff and volunteers process and distribute donations to numerous food pantries in our region.  This initiative is in support of Catholic Schools Care about Catholic Charities Week which is scheduled for the week of November 27th.  Once again, donations may be included with your Thanksgiving Luncheon payment.  Please see the order form from the cafeteria for more details.  Additionally, a collection station will be set up at the entrance to the gym.  Last year this program raised $1,800, a tremendous outpouring of support.  We invite your participation again as we work together to make a positive difference in our community of Manassas.

A Message from House of Mercy
Hello, wonderful extended Catholic “family”,

We are so blessed to be able to offer, for the sixth year, Christmas with Mercy on Saturday Dec. 10. This is the event where we truly are able to help our clients experience the Love and Mercy of our Lord.

The week prior to the gift distribution we need help to prepare the event, and also help serving “our” parents on Saturday Dec 10 (no children come to the event; rather, parents choose gifts which are wrapped, and the kids have the surprise on Christmas morning).

Please email help@houseofmercyva.org to receive a full listing of the positions and dates/times OR navigate to SignUpGenius.com, then “Find a SignUp”, and search by help@houseofmercyva.org

Thank you, and have a blessed Nativity Season as we lead up to this most wonderful of days.
