All Saints selected as a Virginia “Top School”

In a year marked by the celebration of All Saints’ designation as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, we have more exciting news to share!  All Saints Catholic School was recently selected as a “Top School” for the Commonwealth of Virginia in the 2009 Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Talent Search. All Saints was one of just 100 schools in Virginia to receive this distinction.

Students recognized for high level of mathematical and verbal reasoning skills
Johns Hopkins CTY Talent Search identifies, assesses and recognizes students in grades 2 – 8 with exceptional mathematical and/or verbal reasoning abilities. All Saints students receiving qualifying test scores in the 95th percentile or higher on national Terra Nova tests are eligible for participation in CTY programs.

Since 1979, Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth has offered gifted students and their families and schools, a wide range of programs and services to nurture intellectual abilities and enhance personal development.  According to CTY Executive Director Lea Ybarra, “Participating at high levels in the annual CTY Talent Search reflects upon the school’s academic quality, student abilities, and teacher talent. It also reflects upon the school leadership that encourages students to seek out educational challenges beyond traditional school walls.”
